Caturday

Arthur just lounging around.

Ahhh, the life of a cat. Nothing to do but play to your hearts content and then sleep til you're ready to play again.

And here he is pretending to bathe. He starts and then forgets what he was supposed to be doing. This is one area where I think he could have used the help of his mom a bit longer...

Arthur knows his name!

Well, more likely he only looked because he heard a noise. In any event, here's a short little clip of the three of us just hanging out

My workday

Some of you may know the struggle I went through trying to figure out how to decorate my new office. For anyone who is interested, it took me about 5 and a half months to finally get it done. Here are some pictures of it

This is what I do all day long. Unfortunately there are no windows in the office. When the weather started getting nicer a few weeks ago, I was able to go outside  and eat lunch by the river or the lake.

Of course, the best part of the day is when I come home to find these two little guys

Walter's Cube

I bought Walter this little red cube when he was little. He loves it. He sleeps in it every single day and most of the night.

Because he loved his red cube so much, I got him this blue tent. He hated it and made sure to never use it.

He loves his cube even when he can't get in it (we were packing/moving)

Because of Walter's attachment to the cube, Arthur got a red cube to match Walter's cube.

But Arthur likes the blue tent best so far!

Crafts

I'm not a very crafty person. More specifically, I'm not a very creative person. One thing I can handle, though, is finding simple projects online and replicating them. Here are 3 examples:

1. artwork for the office
Following the pictures and directions I found online, this is how mine turned out.

Start with a blank canvas
Tape canvas to allow for the white lines. Because I couldn't find the skinny painter's tape they used, I just used regular old scotch tape.
 Start painting

Wait for paint to dry. Peel off tape. Unfortunately  the scotch tape did not leave crisp lines, but from far away it doesn't look too bad.

Blue and orange were chosen because our firm is redoing their logo and these will be the new colors. In fact my boss was so impressed by this (not only does it match our colors, it kind of looks like an abstract interpretation of our logo) that I am going to be doing two more of these for our other two offices. Maybe I should quit the legal career and just become an artist??

2. Painted fabric quote
For anyone on pintrest, you'll see variations of these all over the place. I decided to give it a shot.

While they use a canvas and a piece of fabric, I used an old frame. I found out canvas is more expensive than I thought it would be, and I  already used my 40% off coupon on the big piece for the project above. I also already had this frame sitting around and I figured it was just going to get covered anyway.

So, I started with an old frame and a piece of fabric.

The ironing probably took longer than anything else.

Next, I attached my stickers to the fabric, which is not wrapped around the frame.

Then simply paint and wait for it to dry.

Pull off the stickers and you're done! Another very simple project.

3. Paint chip art

Another very easy project I found online. All that was required was a circle cutter. Which is is a pretty awesome tool to have. Oh, and a trip to Home Depot to get some paint samples.  Here's the finished product

Walter Spitfire

Since Arthur received a proper introduction, it's only fair that Walter does as well. I adopted Walter on July 7, 2007. He was born on May 11, 2007. He's been an internet star since he was a kitten! Here are some pictures of Walter growing up over the past 5 years:

There was a very popular website when I got him called stuffonmycat.com. exactly what it sounds like...
