Cats are lazy

I tried to get Walter and Arthur to do something. Anything really. This was the result:

 Apparently they were all out of energy today.











So, no exciting post today. Just Walter sleeping in his favorite chair.

Electric Blanket

Due to an awesome Black Friday deal a few months back, I bought this electric throw

It's really awesome. I would reccomend anyone who is ever cold and uses a blanket while laying on the couch watching tv (that's everyone, right?) replaces their standard blanket with this heated one.

Walter and Arthur quickly discovered how amazing the blanket and like to lay on it pretty much any time they have an opportunity to do so.

New Toy

Of course cats never want to play with their actual toys; rather, they want to play with boxes and paper bags. Well, today Arthur found this little plastic bag thingy he thought was just the best

He likes sitting in it

And sleeps in it

And just hangs out

 

It looked like so much fun that Walter had to try it out too

 

They're so good at sharing! (And being adorable together :))

Cats + Air Mattresses

= lots of holes, patches and replacements. And some mild entertainment.

I've purchased four air mattresses in the past two years. I believe the first one bit the dust due to millions of microscopic holes that I could not find and therefore could not patch. I then bought two replacements, because they were cheap. Both of these were attacked by Arthur. I have no acutal proof that Arthur caused the damage, but based on my observations of the cats interacting with the air mattress since that time, I have no reason to suspect Walter and every reason to suspect Arthur. The fourth mattress was just purchased and so far remains free of holes.

People have asked why I don't just spend my money on a top of the line air mattress, something like this:

The answer is quite simple. As long as I have pets, and those pets have claws and teeth, I'm going to stick to the cheap, practically one-time use/disposable/it's ok if they get holes variety like this:

In case you were wondering about the math, I can buy 3 more air mattress before I will spend the same the amount as I would have for a nice one.


Because of sassy Arthur, the mattresses are all patched up

 One might wonder-why not just keep the cats off the air mattresses? Good idea, hard to put into practice.
Arthur is very interested in them.

Walter is somewhat interested, but not nearly as much as Arthur is. He'll take a look at what's going on, but that's as long as it'll have his attention.

On the other hand, if Arthur sees an air mattress out, that will be his spot until it is put away.

Nap time

For all of us. It was a couch day. 

 He's laying on my heated throw, which is pretty much the greatest thing ever.

 Arthur definitely agrees.

Arthur found a new spot

Oh, who could that be hiding in there?

It's Arthur! And he's not interested in anything you have to say.

This is my new favorite spot. No, I will not get out. Ever. This is my new home. 

 Hey, Why did you stop paying attention to me? I'm still hiding in here. Pay attention to me!

 Walter is having none of this. He couldn't possibly care less or be more annoyed by Arthur's antics.

But don't worry,  at the end of the day they still love each other.

Or, at the very least, tolerate each other in close proximity to one another.

Kyle's Birthday

We celebrated my nephew, Kyle's, fifth birthday over the weekend.



In the past, I've been known to give hand made gifts, which included a large tic-tac-toe bean bag game

And a bean bag alphabet

Basically, all I've figured out how to make with my sewing machine so far is squares.....

He's not much help.
